At Little Light Grove we aim to provide a loving, safe and cozy place for little ones to grow, play and belong.
Meet the Owner: Renee Kupferschmidt
Hi! My name is Renee, and I feel incredibly grateful to spend my days caring for and learning alongside young children. Their curiosity, joy, and sense of wonder continually inspire me, and I love watching them explore the world and grow in confidence. I am a mother of two, Oliver (4) and Isla-Mae (2), who have deepened my passion for nurturing and supporting little ones in their early years.
I hold a Montessori Teaching Certification for ages 2–6, along with a certification in Self-Regulation and Early Childhood Development through the MEHRIT Centre. These have equipped me with a strong understanding of both academic and emotional development, allowing me to support children in a way that is respectful, calm, and developmentally appropriate. I am committed to creating an environment where children feel safe, understood, and encouraged to thrive. My CPR certification and Vulnerable Sector Check are up to date to ensure your child’s safety and well-being.
Little Light Grove is a small, home-based program located in the Old North/Carling area, offering a clean, newly renovated learning space and a generous private outdoor area. I look forward to welcoming your family and creating a warm, connected community where children can grow, play, and belong.

"Renee is an exceptional caregiver.
Her fun and playful attitude is a magnet for kids. From day one, my child took a liking to Renee and before no time, he absolutely adored her. My son has always been very attached to me and I've always struggled with childcare, but with Renee, he liked her so much that he had no problem separating from me immediately.
Renee is also very loving and affectionate, which made my child feel very comfortable with her. Whether snuggling up on the couch and reading a book, or holding hands on a walk, it made me very happy as a parent to see how strong he bonded to her.
Renee is very creative and adventurous. She always comes to work with new activities from cool science experiments to season specific scavenger hunts. She's also very good with prioritizing outdoor time, whether it's hours at the park, bike rides, or hikes.
I am so grateful that Renee came into our lives. I can say with confidence that my child benefited greatly by having Renee as his caregiver during these important early education years. I hold her in the highest regards and I highly recommend her!"

"Renee took good care of our two boys, then, aged 6 and 2, for over a year. Renee is responsible, smart, kind, caring, energetic, and so PLAYFUL, helping kids bring their imaginations to life. After a day spent with Renee, my kids went to sleep each night in good spirits and wanting to play again the next day. Activities included lots of imaginary play, as much outdoor time as was possible during summer, spring, and winter, healthy snacks, and lots of storytelling, reading/books, and cuddles. Even though my kids are now in school, they still love seeing Renee and talk about her as one of their favorite people, EVER. As a parent, I had great relationship with Renee, so was confident and comfortable in her abilities to care for my boys, the same way that I would."
